The world is in dire straits. Its cruising to the brink of extinction in terms of resources. Many slogans and propaganda have been invented but to no avail.  Green meetings and green weeks performed in countries all around the world. Its hardly a suprise to see how mankind is just tearing the planet apart. This planet needs a hero, someone like captain planet! gosh, I know it sounds crazy, but back when i was school, he was hero kicking poullution’s butt, still its not like your going to see a super-strong spandex wearing man is flying around and saving earth! The whole world is like some environmentally-themed impending doom theory. hmm, if that did not make sense, lets say we’re not in a movie and there’s no simple solution to this problem. In movies, there always there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel for such disasters. Indeed, there’s really no simple solution at all since we both need to protect the environment and simultaneously can’t just quit driving fossil fuels automobile contraptions.

Well, I will not be harsh on ourselves. We are trying different stuff, newer methods to curb pollution levels have been done or proposed, still even the kids can do something! right? I mean captain planet did wonders for me and I bet that every 90’s born kid would agree that there is no modern day equivalent to an entertaining and educational cartoon in saving the world like the captain did. He gave hope to the child-based audience. Whether its false hope of having magical rings to summon him, that does not matter! the point here to take into consideration is that, he was a environmental angel. Bring back the good old fun-filled half-hour cartoon that taught kids valuable lessons that was popular. Believe that the power is yours!, you can make a difference in saving earth, besides I can’t forget those magical words:

“Go Planet!”

“By your powers combined, I am Captain Planet!”

While cleaning the house today, I noticed my doggie’s fur all over the place and it gets hard to remove it when sweeping, as the hair strands just flies away and float down slowly making my job a lot tougher. The carpets are worse and anyone out there who has a pet should take note that the fur is going to get into the carpet. I recommend regular vacuuming but still hair gets embedded into the carpet fibers and can be very tricky to get out, unless you want to be patient and pluck out every bit of it by hand, here are a few tricks my mum taught me to take the pain out of cleaning up pet hair.

Firstly, you can use baking soda. yes, your baking soda from the kitchen. Take a handful and start by sprinkling the carpet with a light coating of baking soda, then let the stuff sit a few minutes followed by vacuuming the floor or carpet as you normally would. It does wonders and also deodorizes the room! Two in one combo!

Another method is by using a sponge mop and a spray bottle, I used a empty one with just water. Now start by vacuuming the carpet thoroughly and then lightly spray the sponge mop with water. what happens is that the pet hair gets a bit wet and then gently move the mop across the carpet to remove the hair. my doggie’s hair easily got clumped and then its easier to pick up by hand.

Speaking of sponge mop, I just remembered my fondness for sponges! yes, you heard it right! why, cause namely due to sponge bob square pants. For all those who don’t know of him and been living in the planet Neptune with no TV, He is this rather naive sponge living in Bikini Bottom with his friends. He works as a cook at “The Krusty Krab” where he works with his neighbor and friend, Squidward the squid. Patrick the starfish and Sandy the squirrel join SpongeBob in his many adventures. One of the episodes got aired on MTV recently rather than its parent channel Nickelodeon.

This special espiode had the voice of Johnny depp in it as a cool surfer dude! I will not say much but apparently SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward go washed to an island with young surfers and Mr. Krabs is stranded in the middle of the sea while Sandy is taken to a small island in the middle of nowhere. The trio learn the art of surfing from a dude nicknamed Jack Kahuna Laguna (JKL) that they have to ride the “Big One” or the giant wave as locals call it so as to get back home. The rest has the Flying Dutchman and all the fun stuff! Go watch it if you are a Fan! 🙂

Oh, and while walking around ‘The Gardens’ near Midvaley. I saw something in Lego land. Check this out!
